Terms and refunds

Last updated: 14 September 2026

These terms apply to contributions made through this site. They are short on purpose: you give a voluntary contribution to a cooperative, for costs it describes here.

Who receives your contribution

Cooperativa Integral Sulitânia, CRL, a cooperative registered in Portugal (NIF 518771571), Quinta da Fornalha, 8950-186 Castro Marim, Algarve, Portugal. Contact: hello@syntrociety.org.

What contributions are for

Contributions pay for the cooperative's costs of closing its chapter on Quinta da Fornalha: an independent legal assessment by MLGTS, notarial costs, and a provision for additional closing costs, as set out in the budget on the campaign page. The cooperative uses contributions only for these costs.

A voluntary contribution

A contribution is voluntary. You receive no goods, services or other consideration in return. This site does not state that contributions are tax-deductible; if that matters to you, ask your own adviser.

Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe, on a page run by Stripe. All amounts are in euro (EUR). You see and confirm the amount on that page before you pay, and Stripe emails a receipt to the address you enter.

If you need a receipt issued by the cooperative itself, write to hello@syntrociety.org with the name and tax number it should show.

Refunds

If you contributed by mistake or chose the wrong amount, write to hello@syntrociety.org within 14 days of your contribution. The cooperative then refunds your contribution in full to the payment method you used. It can take 5 to 10 business days before the amount appears on your account or card.

After 14 days, or once a contribution has been spent on the costs described, a refund is not always possible. Write to the cooperative anyway; it looks at every request.

Questions and disputes

If something went wrong with a payment, contact the cooperative first so it can put it right. This does not affect your rights with your bank or card issuer.

Use of this site

The texts and photos on this site belong to the cooperative or are used with permission. The site is provided as it is; the cooperative does its best to keep the information accurate.

Applicable law

These terms are governed by Portuguese law. Disputes go to the competent courts of Portugal, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have in the country where you live.

Changes

Changes apply to contributions made after the date at the top of this page.
