Accessibility
Last updated: 14 September 2026
Everyone should be able to read this site and contribute, whatever device, browser or assistive technology they use.
Standard
The site aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
What is in place
- Every page exists in English, Dutch and Portuguese, with the page language set for screen readers.
- Everything works with a keyboard. A skip link leads straight to the content and focus is always visible.
- Text and the borders of controls meet the WCAG contrast ratios.
- Headings, lists and groups of buttons are marked up so assistive technology can navigate them.
- Nothing moves on its own, and transitions switch off when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Photos have text alternatives.
- Text can be enlarged to 200% and the layout adapts to narrow screens without scrolling sideways.
Known limitations
Payments take place on Stripe's page and bookings on Proton Calendar. Those pages are outside the cooperative's control. If you run into a barrier there, write to hello@syntrociety.org and the cooperative will look for another way with you.
How this was checked
The pages were checked with the automated axe-core test and reviewed by hand with a keyboard and at narrow screen widths, on the date at the top of this page.
Report a barrier
If something does not work for you, write to hello@syntrociety.org and describe what happened. The cooperative reads every message.
